Kitchen tip for livening up your rice...

Hi all,
Is your rice a little bland?  Want to liven it up a bit?  Just substitute the chicken stock in place of the water.  That will take the plain, boring rice to a nice flavorful side dish.  I also add some parsley and butter to top it off.

So, be sure to make some good 'ole chicken stock with those leftover bones, and stock up your freezer!  If you don't know how to do that.....stayed tuned for a post on stretching that roasted or baked chicken even further with just the bones. :)

Hope you enjoy,
Jennifer

I tend not to eat rice because of the bland taste. I will have to try this idea out. Thanks for sharing.

I've just recently started doing this and you are so right - it adds more flavor to the rice! Since I'm using brown rice all the time now, it helps make it more appealing to the rest of the family.
