Hi all,
As a reward to myself for getting up and completing my good habit so far, I finished up the last bit of my project. I thought I would share. It turned out just the perfect size. It fits the circumference of my hand spread out. Just right for washing dishes. Although this would make a pretty face cleansing cloth. Hmmm....guess I'll have to make more of these. :) You can see the post I found this pattern from here.
Anyone else working on some fun things during your down time as a reward for a job well done? Would love to see it!
Happy Rewarding!

Crochet--Lion Brand Yarn creations
Hi all,
I just had to share with you the projects my DD and I made with our Lion Brand Yarn we received for review. I used my Vanna's Colors-Violet for this "Crosshatch Cowl" that I found on Crochet Pattern Central. The picture really doesn't do this pattern justice! I am definitely not a photographer, and probably should whip out the nicer camera instead of my mobile phone. :)
This pattern was a lot of fun to work on. I just love the scalloped edge and I can't say enough about the yarn. It is soooo soft, fluffy, and easy to work with. Just pure luxuriousness as my DD would say! :) I can't wait for the cooler temperatures so that I can wear it.
My daughter took her Vanna's Colors-Marina and made a scarf. She decided she just wanted to do a simple half double crochet this time. She too looks forward to some nice cold days to wear our handmade softies! She enjoyed this yarn very much as well! I think we both are going to hint around for some this Christmas! ;)
So, what have you been crocheting? I'd love to know! :)
Happy Crocheting!

Crochet--Red and black Scarf & Hat
Hi all,
Don't ask me why in this Georgia summer heat I feel compelled to crochet! It's crazy, I know, but at least we'll have some warm cozies when the winter comes.....sometime in December! :)
I'm working on a couple of projects right now that aren't ready for pictures, so I pulled out these two that I had already finished for Christmas last year. I finally made a hat that DH could actually fit into. Yipee! I just used the HDC stitch and played around with the yarn.
I made a matching scarf as well. I had planned to put on tassels, but I ran out of time to have it wrapped and DH said it liked it just the way it is. I know he really did like it because he wore them all winter.
He even boasted to some of my friends about my handiwork. I was so proud! :)
Do any of you crochet in the heat of the summer like me, or am I the only nut? What are you all working on these days?
Have a great weekend!

My latest Crochet project--Pink and Peach scarf
Hi all,
Here's my latest crochet project. I made my DD a pink and peach scarf for next winter. I didn't follow a pattern this time.
Here's what I did:
Abbreviations:
Ch=Chain
HDC= Half Double Crochet
Ch: 18
Row 1: HDC Starting in 3rd chain from the hook all the way across Ch 2 turn
Row 2-3: repeat row1 then tie off at the end of row 3
Row 4: Starting with second color chain 2 at the end of row 3, 3rd chain from the hook HDC across, ch 2, turn
Row 5: HDC starting in 3rd loop from the hook tie off at the end
Row 6: Starting with Main color chain 2, 3rd loop from the hook HDC across, Ch 2, turn
Just repeat with the main color for as long as desired length (mine ended up a little shorter than I wanted due to running out of pink).
Then with second color repeat in reverse starting from Row 4 back to Row 1. Then I just finished off with pink and peach tassels.
Please excuse the amateur pattern! I'm still learning and have never written out a pattern. I was happy with the result and DD loves it, so.....Woo Hoo! :)
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Don't forget to stop by my giveaway here celebrating 200 followers. ;)

Finished Project: Crochet Pastel Poncho
Hi all,
I just had to share my latest finished project. :) I made my DD a soft, fluffy poncho. It was surprisingly easy. I had a ball doing it. My daughter likes it so much, that I'll most likely be making more of these.
I found the pattern here. I used Bernat Baby Boucle' yarn in Violet Blossom.
So here I am with a sense of satisfaction, and wanting to crochet more in 80 degree weather! Oh well, I guess we'll be ready for next winter. ;)
What craft projects have you been working on lately? I'd love to see them! I enjoy looking at all types of crafts, or repurposed items, so feel free to share. :)
I hope you all have a great day!

Crocheted Fingerless Gloves
Hi all,
I thought I would share with you the fingerless gloves I made for my daughter. We both have very dry hands in the winter. I made these for her to wear at night. She puts on lotion, then wears these while sleeping. Since they're fingerless she doesn't get too hot.
She loves them, and they really help her with her dry hands. I thinks they turned out real cute. If I do say so myself. :)
I found the pattern here. They were really fun to make, and not hard at all.
I just love this new hobby my daughter and I have learned! It is very gratifying! Wonder what I'll decide to do next? Hmmm.....
What do you like to craft? I'd love to know. :)
Have a great weekend,
Jennifer

Day of Relaxation and Crochet
I just love Sundays! Today my DD and I decided to curl up on the sofa and do a little crocheting. We just taught ourselves how to crochet last winter, so it's still pretty small projects for us. :) We haven't crocheted all summer. It was just too hot for us to get in the mood. Even though it is still hot here in the southeast, the leaves are just beginning to fall, and early in the mornings you can feel a coolness in the air.
Today I opted for a bright yellow dishcloth for my kitchen. I couldn't wait to try it out, and forgot to take a picture first. So, this is a picture after it's first trial run. The picture doesn't do it justice, it's very nice and bright. (I've really got to work on my photography skills!)
My DD decided to surprise me with a beautiful washcloth made with pinks and purples. Already tried that one out too! :) It feels so soft all lathered up. I think she did a great job!
Nothing like using something you know you made yourself! Do you like to craft? Feel free to share what you like to do. I love to see what others are working on!
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!
Until next time,
Jennifer
