What do you Repurpose?

  Hello,
Do any of you like to repurpose?  I love to find new ways to use something.  Here are some of my favorites:

1. You know the plastic mesh bags that oranges come in?  Fold them up, and they become great pot scrubbers!

2.  I use grocery store bags for my small bathroom garbage cans.

3.  The square empty tissue boxes become storage for all my grocery store bags.  I just fill one box up, and keep it under each bathroom sink for easy access when emptying my garbage cans.

4.  The heavy duty cereal boxes that you get from warehouse stores are great to keep my paperback cookbooks in. The picture I posted shows my DD's coloring books. See how to do this here.  Even the less sturdy boxes could be used for lighter magazines.

5.  Empty jars with screw tops are great for keeping some of your wall paint in for quick touch ups.

I read about a few other things that I want to do, but it requires some time to make them.  So, I'll have to save those for another post.  ;)

What do you like to repurpose? Please share! :)  Add a link below to your blog to share your tips, and be sure to link back here for others to see and play along.

Thanks for stopping by,
Jennifer

I like the idea of storing plastic grocery bags in empty tissue boxes! I'll have to "borrow" that one! ;)

Hello dear Jennifer :-) You have some great frugal ideas there! Thank you for sharing them. I'd like to try #1 very much. I do #2 as well, for the bathroom and for my kitchen tidy bin. It feels good to get more than one use out of something doesn't it! Hope you are having a wonderful week. Many blessings..Trish

Good ideas! My daughters and I like to take denim skirts (especially mini-skirts) from the thrift store, cut them off just below the pockets and then add gathered layers of lovely, bright fabrics till it has become a modest and beautiful skirt without the hassle of waistband and zipper sewing. I hope to post on that within a day or two at homepiecing.blogspot.com

Great job repurposing things! I love the idea for the pot scrubber... I'll have to try that one out! If you're interested, I have a link up on my blog on Fridays for homemaking, repurposing, being more content with what we have, etc. Hope you have a fantastic rest of the week!

Love your ideas! I really like to find new purposes for things around the home too.

We use the grocery bags in the bathroom for trash too~

I like to use various old pop bottles for wildflowers my children have picked for me!
