Are you a Flylady? Series 1 of 32 (Introduction)

Hi all,
Are you a Flylady?  If you have no idea what I'm talking about...just keep reading!  If you are, I hope you will also keep reading, and join me in helping others to start flying, or just rejuvenate your attitude to flying. :)

Do you struggle with coming up with a good house cleaning schedule?  Do you wonder where to start?  Do you feel like the job is just to big, so you keep putting it off?  Then I hope you'll join me in this series of posts!  I promise you will feel great, while getting your house cleaning in check, and have fun doing it!  Yes, I said fun....while cleaning house.  You'll see! ;)

This is the first post in a series of 32.  In this post, I'm just going to tell you a little bit about my experience with Flylady, and how it completely changed my attitude towards the overwhelming, daunting task of keeping the house clean.  Housecleaning does not have to be perfect!  Anything you do, even half way, is a blessing to you, your family, and your home!

My house has always been pretty "company ready" at all times.  However, I often felt like I was just spinning my wheels just keeping up with the everyday things, while those not so noticeable things just remained untouched.  You know the things I mean...like closets, baseboards, ceiling fans, vents, dust bunnies under the bed, I could go on and on.  By the time I needed to do those things, I felt so overwhelmed that I didn't know where to even start.  Well, no more!  Flylady tells me everyday exactly what I should do.  Free of charge!  My house gets a spring cleaning all year long, and I feel like I'm spending less time doing it.  It's wonderful!

Now, don't worry, if you have trouble with even the everyday house cleaning chores, Flylady can help!  That is what she is there for.  If you feel you are the worst housekeeper in the world, you won't any longer!  In no time at all you and your house will see the results.

If you are new to this whole idea, don't go straight to the links and start reading.  You may get overwhelmed, and think, there's no way I can do this.  I'm telling you that you can.  I'm going to do a series of posts everyday for 32 days sharing with you my experience of becoming a Flylady.  You'll find that by doing one little thing everyday you will be Flying high faster than you can imagine.

Once you've eased into small activities daily, cleaning becomes less of a chore, and more of a habit.  Doing little bits of your house at a time keeps your house clean continuously without seeming overwhelming. Which is how you end up spring cleaning all year long.

I would also like to recommend the Flylady's book...Sink Reflections by Marla Cilley.  It is a very motivating book, that explains this whole process.  You can probably find the book at your local library, or I have a link to amazon to the right of this post under Amazon Favorites.

For tomorrow's post, my first day in my journey to learning to fly.  Be sure to come by, to see how I do, as I once again go step by step! ;)

So I hope you'll join me and have fun learning how to Fly!  For those of you flying already, I hope you join in, and share you accomplishments, encouragement, or journey.

Happy Flying!
Jennifer

I actually discovered Fly Lady several years ago and really loved her methods. I have introduced her to my now young moms, girl scouts. It is amazing how overwhelmed they become. They can discover her information at their leisure. She's great. Oh yes, I'm a new follower over from the blog hop...and you can find me at http://www.theskinnyonmini.blogspot.com or at http://inherpeace-janetsjournal.blogspot.com. Have a beautiful day! ~Blessings, Janet

Janet Ellis,
Thanks for stopping by my blog and following! I thinks it's great that your sharing Flylady with younger folks! My 9yr old DD is on board, and has her own list as well. I'm so glad that she's learning such great habits now, so that later it doesn't seem so much like a chore, but a lifestyle.
